Description: Educating the 21st century learner requires expansion beyond the traditional lecture approach. Immersive participation activities enrich the academic experience through student engagement, allowing knowledge to be more deeply understood. During this workshop, participants will discover an innovative approach to active learning and construct summative, experiential activities for curriculum implementation.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop computer for use during workshop activities.

Learning Objectives:

Describe evidence-based examples of active learning in graduate education
Discuss barriers to implementation of active learning principles
Evaluate individual course curriculum for opportunities to implement active learning
Design an interactive, boot camp-style student learning experience utilizing the tools and principles of active learning
